Britt is having a rough day
Liz catches Britt using her phone while she reads a text from Rocco. They have a small confrontation when Liz tries to remind her about using phones in the workplace. Their exchange is cut short when Lucas appears, giving Britt a letter of recommendation for reinstating her medical license. When Britt says that the letter makes her sound robotic, Lucas replies that he has already sent it to the board. However, she hopes that Brennan comes through with the favor.
Portia’s new arrangement
When Curtis drops by the hospital to check on Portia, she informs him that she won’t return home with him. Instead, she’ll head to Metro Court for a while. He agrees and leaves for Willow’s trial.
Soon, Brad Cooper, who’s back in town, also visits Portia and threatens to spill the beans unless she’s nice to him. Isaiah intervenes and asks Brad to leave. After he’s gone, Isaiah once again asks Portia to stay at his cabin while she recovers. Outside, Brad runs into Lucas, where the two catch up.
Pre-trial preparations
Alexis is preparing for her opening statement when Willow and Drew arrive. She says that it’s not wise for Willow to testify, and prepares her on how she needs to react and behave during the session. Meanwhile, Tracy vows to keep Michael safe during the trial, but he’s not too happy with his grandmother perjuring herself.
Tensions before the trial
Lulu confronts Britt at the hospital after learning that she texted Rocco. She warns her to stay away from him. Later, in court, Carly accuses Nina of attempting to help Willow flee the country if the case goes against her, which the latter denies. Nina then tries to have a conversation with Willow, but she puts it off for later.
Friends reunite
After Lulu’s confrontation, Britt realizes that she blocked her on Rocco’s phone. She then runs into Brad, who vents at her for faking her death. But he forgives her after planning to watch the Oscars together and hug it out.
Trial commences
Justine begins the session with her opening statement, talking about how Drew destroyed Willow’s life by pulling her away from Michael and their kids. She also talks about the murder weapon and the video footage.
Subsequently, Alexis makes her opening statement, shifting the blame to PCPD, claiming they were desperate to find a suspect. Meanwhile, Dante receives a message, prompting him to leave the room.
