While speaking to Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida in Square Enix’s Tokyo, Japan, offices last year for\u00a0Game Informer’s\u00a0<\/em>cover story<\/a> on the game, he told me there was currently no plans for DLC<\/a>. However, a few months after the game’s June release during The Game Awards 2023, Square Enix revealed FFXVI would be getting two DLCs<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first \u2013 Echoes of the Fallen \u2013 was a combat-centric DLC released that same night. The second \u2013 The Rising Tide \u2013 is a more expansive, story-focused DLC about the Leviathan Eikon curiously missing from the main game.
