Fifteen women participated in a 2015 study published in the ResearchGate<\/a>, and it was found that hard water damaged hair. Washing hair samples in hard water and distilled water for a month were taken for the study. It was found that the hair from the hard water samples had decreased in volume.<\/p>\n

Hard water is basically the water that has high levels of minerals. These minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium ions, are picked up as water travels through rocks and soil, making them less soluble and more likely to leave deposits. Here\u2019s how it affects hair:<\/p>\n

Continuous exposure to hard water can contribute to persistent hair problems such as chronic dryness, weakened hair structure and an increased likelihood of developing split ends<\/a>. Over time, this may result in overall diminished hair health. But you can do your bit to repair damaged hair.<\/p>\n

1. Clarifying shampoos<\/h3>\n

Use clarifying shampoos to remove mineral build-up from the hair. These shampoos are specifically designed to break down and eliminate deposits, restoring hair to a healthier state.<\/p>\n
