Then, we learned <a href=\"https:\/\/gameinformer.com\/2026\/01\/14\/thor-actor-from-god-of-war-ragnarok-cast-as-kratos-in-live-action-series\">which actor will play Kratos in the live-action God of War series<\/a>. And now there&#8217;s news on the Tomb Raider front \u2013 we got our first look at Sophie Turner&#8217;s portrayal of Lara Croft. Turner wears shorts, pistol holsters on each hip, a teal tank top, and even Lara Croft&#8217;s sunglasses (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R9yxzDDvAm8&amp;pp=ygUdZ2FtZSBpbmZvcm1lciB0b21iIHJhaWRlciBuZ3Q%3D\">which appear on the cover of Tomb Raider III<\/a>), complete with red, circular lenses. As is often the case with live-action adaptations, Turner&#8217;s initial casting as the character was met with skepticism from some, but now that she&#8217;s in the wardrobe, you can&#8217;t deny she looks the part. We&#8217;ll just have to wait and see if her performance holds up as well.<\/p>\n<p>The Tomb Raider series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (known for <em>Fleabag <\/em>and <em>Solo<\/em>), who serves as both showrunner and writer. The show&#8217;s cast also includes Martin Bobb-Semple, Sigourney Weaver, and Jason Issacs (<a href=\"https:\/\/gameinformer.com\/sgf-2023\/2023\/06\/08\/baldurs-gate-3-gets-lucius-malfoy-actor-as-a-bad-guy\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"f702c8e0-a49a-4402-b9f0-e4d417704f26\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\">who <em>Game Informer<\/em> readers might know as Gortash in Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3<\/a>). The show is currently in production.<\/p>\n<p>This shift back towards the classic Lara Croft look is a move the entire brand is making in 2026, which is the 30th anniversary of the first game&#8217;s launch.
