Lucy Markovic passes away at 27, claims report<\/h2>\n

The fashion industry suffered a devastating loss as Lucy Markovic, best known for her time on Australia\u2019s Next Top Model, passed away at the age of 27.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her agency, Elite Model Management, confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement shared on Thursday. \u201cWe are heartbroken to share that Lucy Markovic has passed away after a brave battle with a brain AVM,\u201d the agency announced.<\/p>\n

They described her as a radiant personality with a sharp wit and unwavering elegance. \u201cModeling was one of Lucy\u2019s dreams, and we are deeply honored to have been part of that journey with her. She brought elegance, strength, and beauty to her work,\u201d the agency added.<\/p>\n

Her partner, Carlos, echoed the sentiment in an emotional Instagram post. \u201cDear friends and family, I regret to inform you that Lucy has passed. She was at peace. Me, her mother and my mother were present with her. We ask you to please give us space in these hard times. May Lucy Rest in peace,\u201d he wrote. (via New York Post<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Lucy Markovic\u2019s death was caused by a brain AVM, aka arteriovenous malformation. It is a rare condition involving tangled blood vessels that disrupt normal blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain. Moreover, brain AVMs can lead to serious complications.<\/p>\n

Tributes to the model have poured in from around the globe. Fashion icon Donatella Versace shared a runway image of Markovic, writing, \u201cI am so sorry to hear about Lucy. Rest in peace, beautiful girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
