Windows 2-in-1s have<\/span> been doing the tablet-laptop hybrid thing<\/a> for a while now, but the tablet part of that equation always feels lacking. While iPads and Android tablets<\/a> have refined the experience for more than a decade and have vast ecosystems of tablet-optimized apps at the ready, Windows remains a bit of an ugly duckling.<\/p>\n

But what if you combined a Windows laptop with a full Android tablet? That\u2019s the idea behind the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus (Gen 5)<\/a>, and it\u2019s an interesting beast.<\/p>\n

The closest analogue to the ThinkBook Plus (Gen 5) is Microsoft\u2019s now-dead Surface Book<\/a> line but without the need to split shared hardware between the screen and the base. Instead, the ThinkBook packs all of its laptop internals into the keyboard base and the separate tablet hardware in the display. What you end up with is a laptop that can instantly (well, nearly<\/em> instantly) switch between Windows and Android at the press of a button, or operate separately when you detach the screen.<\/p>\n
