If you didn\u2019t hear the big news at Apple\u2019s \u201cIt\u2019s Glowtime\u201d event<\/a> on Monday, well, the company has plans to help with that. Imminent upgrades to Apple\u2019s second-generation AirPods Pro<\/a> wireless earbuds<\/a> will soon outfit the ubiquitous headphones with hearing aid<\/a> features, further disrupting a market well in the throes of a disruption already<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Functionally, Apple is taking the same approach as many low-cost, over-the-counter hearing aid<\/a> manufacturers by providing a product that does double duty as both Bluetooth earbuds and a hearing aid<\/a>. The catch is that it isn\u2019t introducing a new product but rather adding hearing aid technology to an existing headphone product\u2014a novel approach to the category.<\/p>\n
